About Me.
I was born and raised in rural Alabam, the heart of the Black Belt. In early childhood, I spent countless hours after school stringing up sheets on the front porch and performing on the “stage” of the porch steps with passing cars and stray dogs as my audience. I was fortunate enough to be born into a family already familiar with theatre - my oldest sister being my lifelong inspiration. I started early in community theatre, where I had the immense privilege of learning and growing with some of Alabama's best actors and directors. During my college years, I honed in on being honest with my work. Troy University has an unassuming theatre program nestled away in a small town in the south - the department focuses on cultivating story-focused artists; limited resources make you dig deep to create truly engaging work. After college, I was fortunate to jump straight into being a full-time maker, departing from theatre for a bit and working as a sculpture artist while building up a lighting design portfolio. After a forced hiatus due to covid, I took the position of Head of Stage Operations at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery Alabama. Back in the freelance sector and based out of Atlanta Georgia. Still telling stories and finding truth and impact in every moment.
